My journey with tai chi chuan and qi gong began 8 years ago (when I was 47 years old). The first 2 I practiced qi gong only and from the 3rd year onwards I also started tai chi chuan.
By the end of the 1st year qi gong: correcting posture and breathing and gaining conscious control of them during my daily life. Improving balance in movement. Improving concentration, calmness and well-being most of the day.
1st and 2nd years tai chi (during pandemic): it proved to be the most loyal and indispensable friend and ally for my mental and physical health.
Month after month I realized: – increased flexibility in the joints
– reduced pain in the limbs and back (improvement of shoulder tendonitis and sprained ankles)
– relaxation and well-being,
– more energy and endurance in my daily obligations and activities
– calm, balance, relaxation and self-control on a physical and mental level.
From the beginning to today: – Improvement of my relationships with others (family, friends, work), but mainly with myself.
– Increased sense of joy and satisfaction daily, even from small stimuli.
– Reduced pain in joints, bones, tendons and muscles.
– Maintaining a healthy weight.
– Absence of pain and improved movement after ankle sprain, shoulder tendonitis and symptoms of cervical syndrome.
When I wake up in the morning, I no longer have to wait, for a while, sitting in bed, but I jump up, without pain, immediately.
I also regained the ability to reverse when driving, by turning my head back and not looking at the side mirrors.
At my last annual medical check-up, when the doctor compared the results of the Bone Mass Measurement with previous years, he said:
“You are getting older and your bone mass is increasing. How did you achieve this? You are doing something right, keep it up!”.
I, on the other hand, owe gratitude every day to my Teachers, to our school.
RANIA.
